welcome to the grown up's table 2 reps per camp, no goddamn rats remember: this is a council, not your sideshow don't make our bullshit your biz. you wanna bitch each other out, respect everyone's time and swing fists outside far as i'm concerned, this is neutral turf for info, suspects, leads, and any theories you wanna lay out on the table
i've got a line to some of the other roles (necromancer = talks to the dead), (? = can rez someone) in play i'll be your hookup if you've got a message to pass down not outing their names or their teams, so don't ask. they're in ani's witness protection program for now
that's it. floor's open for whoever else wants to sound off
[ interesting to open this forum with such a clear declaration of distrust, but there’s valuable information in here still. ]
Thank you for the invitation.
My companion spoke to the Shepherd, or attempted to, at least. He said,
“The wolves are the cost of the covenant. Are their claws deadlier than the Manor's falsehoods? Is bloodshed a crueler fate than damnation? My flock is protected by our oath. The wolves are signs that that covenant holds true. Each death is a tithe paid. The wolves are not punishment. They are proof. The fire speaks, and the fire chooses. I do not play children's games. I am simply a host. The Manor toyed with its pawns. But here, the pawns play with fire. Tell me which burns truer."
Thank you, Ani -- and thank you everyone for the opportunity, I'm very honored to be here.
[he's cried about it minimum 8 times and maybe thrown up once but! he's here!]
I can corroborate the existence of the same necromancer, though I think Ani's word should be sufficient, at this point. We also have these rumors about a witness to a Diamond leaving two of the crime scenes, which is interesting, to say the least. Last year we had no witnesses to the crimes, aside from doctors.
I also have a list of everyone's roles during September, in case the weapons used corroborate.
One, I assume, will put Saber away. Do we have any suspects for the other?
The lead on the vampires seems ... not moot, but gone cold, considering that Paul was not bitten and Giles was attacked rather more brutally than would be typical.
Ani, did you know you had a role before you saved Jake? Or did it just—activate for you? Like we presume it does for the wolves, in the night?
How do the necromancer and the resurrector know their roles for certain? Have they already spoken to the dead? I wouldn’t put it past someone to pretend they’ve been assigned some other role to stay off the chopping block, for the moment, even if the lie won’t hold.
Well, I presume we can agree this is going incredibly poorly.
With the investigations slowing and the accusations quickening, the game becomes one of numbers, not intelligence.
I suggest we rule out Tony, Stephen (accused in desperation by the vilest of our number), Wanda (abilities unlinked to the Diamond attacks), Jem (who has been threatening other members of the Hearts, presumably to draw fire from Danny). Additionally, I’m disinclined to support the accusation against Buffy Summers due to the use of… a greatsword? Scythe? Her brute strength would surely be the tell, in a crime she committed.
I suggest we coordinate our votes to ensure Saber and a Diamond are sent to the cage, leaving us with Danny, Armand, August, and any we ourselves would put forward.
On the other Diamonds: • A case has been made for Devon on Jinx’s post. Please read through it. • Ren may be employing the same tactic as Jem, in targeting the Yellowjackets, given her public upset over the Devon accusation. Do we know anything more about the nature of her superior strength?
Edited (and ANOTHER THING, more haterade) 2025-10-07 07:19 (UTC)
Not to muddy the waters, but it's worth considering what everyone's roles were last month -- weapons and other tools are strictly limited/tracked here, so it's reasonable to assume that by and large, only certain roles would've had access to things like knives and hammers and whatnot.
I've made a list of them here, if that seems helpful: [villageroles.pdf]
[how did he make this list? don't worry about it.]
Perhaps that was true before, but unless all the places the tools are kept are monitored overnight it's dangerous to assume it's still the case. All the fleshworker hammers suspected to be used in Castiel's murder were back in place by the time they were investigated, so somebody got in and out of there. Presumably under cover of night unless somebody's covering or a wolf's now conscious. Unless I'm missing something, there's no guarantee it was a fleshworker.
If the tools are monitored overnight, we need to start identifying the relevant villagers and having conversations.
[ Just going to ignore the fact that everybody knows his business thanks Koby ]
The people out for Devon and by extension Ren. Any of them with a known background in medicine or the sciences? Chemistry the most obvious.
[ Not only is it not ideal that there's a poisoner about for obvious reasons, but also because apparently he has other poisoners on speed dial, and the sooner they exonerate them the better. ]
"I’m really good with herbs and plants in North America, but not so much here. There’s got to be something poisonous somewhere, though!"
"I'm pretty good at foraging. But whether it's a lethal dose versus just a bad time versus maybe a good time is gonna be a little up in the air until we try it."
1) Misty has agreed to have the Yellowjackets keep a low profile this round. 2) She has also promised their votes in our favor, contingent upon none of the girls coming to any harm until the vote comes to pass.
1. I don’t believe you and Misty would define low profile similarly. 2. It appears they sought the vampires’ votes as well. I do not know what price they paid, but I doubt all can collect it.
[ His handle from mildly easier times stays now only because it's programmed to. It's too soon for this, but it'll always be too soon, and for all he doesn't know if they'll have it in them to collaborate for another round, if they do, they can't afford to wait. So - ]
In Koby's absence, it'd be useful to have another representative from the diamonds.
He was likely strangled, perhaps by a garrote or a similar tool. There is a thin line around his neck, and it appears he did not struggle. He was missing a lock of hair. Like the others, including Iggy, he was beheaded and the wound was cauterized.
And Natalie, investigated by her teammates and shared with the Hearts:
The decapitation didn't look like it was done with a weapon at all. “It was bad,” which I take to mean haphazard and bloody.
“it looked like someone ripped her head off and then cauterized the wound somehow. and there was a bruise too, like someone strangled her first before doing the rest.
and the other stuff. the other... parts, i mean. whatever cut them off was super sharp but whoever did it wasn't too good with a knife. sloppy work.”
The wolves are smarter than they were last time. We never had a coordinated attack like this. And if they're working together, it's not a matter of who did who, but which parts can be attributed to who.
1. The garroting 2. The decapitations (messy, like they're being ripped off - inhuman strength) 3. The cauterizing - the neck stubs are messy but the cauterizing is clean. No spot missed or uneven burn marks. Implies magic rather than a mundane instrument. 4. The paw prints leaving the scene. 5. ??? The pumpkin carving? Maybe there's a wolf less suited to killing. One that isn't obvious.
so for anyone not in the know, i'm looping you in now, and i wanna keep this hush till we figure out what the fuck's going on:
the boss of these fucking psychos has it in for me, or i've got another secret admirer haunting my ass morning after the murder spree, i woke up to saber's head chilling at the end of my bed
his face is beat to shit. like someone pulped him through the bars on his cage no hair missing, no trophy taken cept for his head. which makes his head the trophy, i guess strangled, but it looks different from the rest
head wasn't branded. this wasn't about making it clean, but they weren't sloppy bout it no footprints, just a breadcrumb trail to my place
signed a little message to me too. even took their time with carving it in and wiping him up best they could like they cared about making it perfect or something. or they were proud to show him off proud enough that they served him up on one of my plates the most fucked up part of all of it is they straightened up my kitchen on the way out. so we got a civilized butcher on our hands
basically, the bottom line's this: they weren't just punishing saber for his colossal fuck-up. they wanted to send me a message maybe to scare me into keeping my big mouth shut. or maybe they thought they were making things square by delivering a gift i gotta tell you, i'm not crazy about either option

Koby couldn't see much, there was something covering his eyes. But his killer's pendant was red.
@gawain
Do we look to a Diamond or a Heart with superior strength, then, given the manner of his death?
If so, we have:
Diamonds — Bob, Armand, Caroline, Spike
Hearts — Lestat, Louis, Eddie
On Hearts, would Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes be contenders? Do we know anything of Josias there or OA on Diamonds?
